About Us
A couple months after our son was born, we purchased a Maya Wrap sling. We were soon both hooked on baby wearing and couldn’t understand why more people weren’t carrying their babies around like this. You can actually snuggle, kiss and talk to your baby while doing other things!
We were also looking for a way that Sarah could be a stay at home mom. So, in 2001, Nature’s Mother was born and we opened an online store selling natural baby products.
In 2003, Sarah was walking by some older commercial buildings a few blocks from our house. She noticed a video store had just moved out and the space was for rent.
When she peeked in, she didn’t see the disaster that was the tiny video store. Instead, God gave her a vision of a cute little shop where she could sell her products and provide support to mothers in our community.
We had talked about opening a store someday, but suddenly it was real. Without much time to think about it, we made a decision in faith and signed a lease. After several weeks and with a lot of help from friends, we were open for business.
In 2004, we had an opportunity to move into a larger space in the same building. So, with more help from our friends, we fixed it up and moved in. Our storefront now has a larger retail area and a play room in the back where Sarah can homeschool Roark.
In these last few years, God has not only blessed us with customers to support a store, but with many wonderful friends that I can't imagine not knowing.
